The screen has cracked my marriage

Screen Shot 2016-05-18 at 17.02.26“For years, my dirty little secret was that i was addicted to pornography…” It’s difficult to admit to having any kind of addiction, let alone confessing it to the world via one of the greatest social media platforms of our time.

The words above were uttered by 47-year-old actor, Terry Crews, who is particularly famous for his role as Latrell Spencer in white chicks.

Crews claims that pornography “messed up my life in a lot of ways.” His “porn fixation began age 12, before he dealt with it ‘six/seven years ago,’ after it almost cost him his marriage to gospel singer Rebecca King.”

“It became a thing where I didn’t tell anybody… and that allowed it to grow,” Crews admitted in the first of three videos about the addiction. “If day turns into night and you’re still watching, you’ve probably got a problem. And that was me.”

Although this testament may have shocked countless witnesses who have watched, shared and liked Terry Crews’ videos, this type of news is not uncommon here at the UCKG HelpCentre. In fact, Crews is an example of the kind of people we help at our Addiction Cleansing Therapy (ACT) meetings every  Sunday at 6pm.

If you have a similar issue to Crews—addictions you want to quit but have no strength to; a habit that you want to be rid of; an attitude that you can’t shake, and even problems in your life that you have tried and failed to overcome, then it’s time to say, “It is finished!”

Do you want to GET CLEAN or is there a situation in your life that its time you said ‘IT IS FINISHED’? Join the Addiction Cleansing Therapy (ACT) meetings every Sunday at 6pm at the Rainbow Theatre.
